  • Template:G2 marks the second time the crown icon which denotes which player in a multiplayer match is in the lead has been changed since the introduction of the feature in Template:G and the crown change in Template:G. Instead of a rendered three-dimensional crown, the icon is now a flat white two-dimensional icon inside of a bubble of the same color as the player currently in the lead with a white outline around the bubble.
    • However, the 7th-Gen versions of the game retain the original crown design.
  • Template:G2 marks the first time where Ubisoft Club/Uplay rewards are not available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 since Template:G.
  • Template:G2’s pictograms have an effect where they will beat in time with the song on every other beat (as opposed to the pictogram bar, which still beats on every beat).
  • Template:G2 marks the first time the pictograms have shadows.
  • Template:G2 is the third game confirmed by Ubisoft to have Template:G.
  • Template:G2 is the first game in the series to have "May contain content inappropriate for children" on its ESRB label.Template:Cite
    • Despite this, the game still maintains the seriesTemplate:' customary E10+ rating.
  • Template:G2 features three artists (Template:Wp, Template:Wp, and Marine Band) who hold the record for the longest gap between two songs in the series.
  • The songs Automaton, Bubble Pop!, and The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody) were played during the presentation of the game at E3, with Template:Wp present in person to sing The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody).
  • During the E3 presentation, dancers wearing the following costumes appeared:
  • The preview videos for these songs contain pictogram errors wherein, during the fading phase of pictogram, they are replaced by a random pictogram from the same song:
    • Keep On Moving
    • Got That
    • Blow Your Mind (Mwah)
    • Footloose
    • John Wayne
    • Side To Side
    • Daddy Cool
    • Make It Jingle
    • Love Ward
    • Bubble Pop!
    • Chantaje
    • Automaton
    • The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody)
    • 24K Magic
    • Rockabye
    • Naughty Girl
    • Carmen (Overture)
  • The preview gameplay videos available on the official US and UK Just Dance YouTube channels differ for the songs shown at E3. For example, Automaton shows the first chorus and the second verse on the US account, but it shows the second chorus and the bridge on the UK one.
    • However, some song previews show the same part with an additional part in each region. Some examples are Rockabye and How Far I’ll Go.
  • Several coaches from Template:G, and Template:G2 appear in the announcement banner.
  • Template:G2 is the fourth game in the series in which the menu icons are cropped from squares into another shape, in this case, super-ellipses.
    • The first one was Template:G2, the second was Template:G (both of which cropped squares into circles) and the third was the Wii, Wii U, and PS3 versions of Template:G (which cropped squares into D shapes).
  • Lyrics appear slightly different than previous games - a diagonal line protrudes from the bottom edge of the screen and the lyrics follow the contour of that line when they scroll up.
    • Also, when a gray line scrolls up from the "next line" line and begins highlighting, the gray line that replaces it will "swoop in" from the bottom of the screen, similarly to Template:G2.
    • The diagonal line disappears when lyrics aren't shown.
    • 7-Gen versions of the game do not have the diagonal line and keep the original lyric style
  • Squares are much more zoomed in on the coaches than in previous games.
  • The titles for the UK previews of Footloose, John Wayne and Kissing Strangers contain the word "[OFFICIEL]" (the French word for "official") instead of its English counterpart.[11]
  • Template:G2 marks the second time that an artist, in this case Nicki Minaj, has 3 songs in the same game included on the disc. The first time was the Best Buy edition of Template:G2, where the artist with three songs was Katy Perry.
  • Template:G2 marks the first time in the Template:G2 series that the Ubisoft logo has changed. The new Ubisoft logo (also known as "The UbiSwirl") was initially shown to the public on the UbiBlog on May 31, 2017. The logo animation movie was shown for the first time in Template:Wp.[12]
  • On Nintendo Switch, the Joy-Cons vibrate with the rhythm of music even outside of Double Rumble routines.Template:Cite
  • Template:G2 is the first game since Template:G to have multiple on-disc alternates for one song. Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) has a Kids Mode alternate routine and a Dance Crew alternate routine.
  • Template:G2 is the first game since Template:G to not feature any song from Template:Wp or any of its members.
  • The Gold Move effect is similar to Template:G but it has less particles and a red glow effect
    • In the preview video of Me Too on Template:G, the full Gold Move effect uses a similar red glow effect.
    • 7th-Gen consoles use the Gold Move effect that has been the norm since Template:G.
  • If Template:G2 is pre-ordered from the PlayStation Store on the PlayStation 4, the player can use the following PlayStation Network avatars as their avatar:[13]
  • Just like the previous three games, Template:G2 has messages that present themselves when an alternate routine is unlocked, exclusively on seventh gen consoles. Here are the messages attributed to each routine, in order of when they are unlocked:
    • Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) - Straight to the goal!
    • Dharma - Face your opponent!
    • Automaton - Ketchup or mustard?
    • Chantaje - YouTemplate:'ve got a ticket to ride!
    • Bubble Pop! - You'll be stuck in the sound...
    • Side to Side - Work out like a diva!
    • Kissing Strangers - Put on your dancing shoes!
    • Another One Bites the Dust - Be a real action hero!
    • 24K Magic - Be as good as gold...
    • Tumbum - Warm up the place!
    • Despacito - Ready for some Latin vibes?
    • John Wayne - Welcome to the Far West!
